Ingredients

For the Shrimp
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined Fresh or frozen works wonders
  • ΒΌ cup honey
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar or your favorite vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • Green onions or sesame seeds for garnish optional but oh-so-pretty

Method

Preparation
  1. If you're using frozen shrimp, ensure they have time to thaw and pat them dry using a paper towel.
  2. In a bowl, combine the honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, and rice vinegar. Whisk the mixture until well combined.
Cooking
  1. In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until nice and hot.
  2. Add the shrimp and season them with salt and pepper. Cook for about 2 minutes, flipping halfway through until they turn pink and opaque.
  3. Pour in the honey garlic mixture, stir, and let it simmer for about 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the shrimp.
Serving
  1. Serve the shrimp on a serving dish with a drizzle of the sauce, garnished with green onions or sesame seeds.

Notes

Fresh shrimp are lovely, but frozen ones work just as well. For added heat, include red pepper flakes or diced chili to the honey garlic blend. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
