Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Think of it as cookie magic!
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar Who doesn’t love that deep, caramel flavor?
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips Or your favorite mix-ins—go wild!

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, blend softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt, then gradually add to the wet mixture until just combined.
  5. Gently fold in chocolate chips (or other mix-ins).
  6. Drop blobs of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden brown.
  8. Allow cookies to rest on baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool.

Notes

For a thicker, chewier texture, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking. Be careful as ovens may vary in baking time.
