  • 2 cups all-purpose flour For the base of the biscuits.
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder To help the biscuits rise.
  • 1 teaspoon salt To enhance flavor.
Main Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed Keep it cold for flaky layers.
  • 3/4 cup milk or buttermilk Buttermilk adds extra tang.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Add the milk or buttermilk and stir until just combined.
  5. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and pat to about 1-inch thick.
  6. Use a biscuit cutter to cut out biscuits and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Baking
  1. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
  2. Let them cool slightly before serving warm.

Notes

Using cold ingredients helps achieve flaky layers. Don't overwork the dough to keep biscuits light and fluffy. Feel free to add shredded cheese or herbs for extra flavor.
