- In a small saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Once it’s warm, add the minced garlic. Sauté for about 30 seconds, or until fragrant. Be careful not to burn it.
- Pour in the crushed tomatoes and stir to combine.
- Sprinkle in the oregano, basil, salt, pepper, and sugar. Stir everything together and let simmer on low heat for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- After simmering, taste the sauce and adjust seasonings as needed.
- Let the sauce cool, then use it on your favorite pizza or store it in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.
Notes
You can freeze the sauce for later use. For a chunkier texture, use diced tomatoes instead of crushed tomatoes. Add red pepper flakes if you want it spicy.
