  • 1 package puff pastry sheets (thawed)
  • 6-8 slices ham (deli or favorite variety)
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, Swiss, or a mix) Feel free to be creative!
  • 1 each egg (beaten, for egg wash)
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • optional herbs or spices (like oregano or garlic powder) Mix it up for added flavor!

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the thawed puff pastry sheets on a floured surface and cut into squares, about 4 inches by 4 inches.
  3. Place a slice of ham and a generous sprinkle of cheese in the center of each pastry square. Add any optional herbs if desired.
  4. Fold the pastry over the filling diagonally to create a triangle. Pinch the edges tightly to seal.
  5. Place the rolls on a lined baking sheet and brush the tops with the beaten egg.
  6. Bake for about 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  7. Let them cool for a minute, then enjoy warm.

Notes

For best results, use a generous amount of cheese. You can prepare these rolls ahead of time and freeze them before baking. Consider trying different shapes for fun!
