Method
Preparation
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, instant yeast, sugar, and salt.
- In another bowl, mix the warm milk, melted butter, and egg until well combined.
- Slowly add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until you form a dough.
- Knead it on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes until it's smooth and elastic.
Let the Dough Rise
- Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover it with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
Assemble the Rolls
- After the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle (about 12x18 inches).
- Brush the surface with melted butter, then sprinkle the cocoa powder, brown sugar, cinnamon, mini marshmallows, and chocolate chips evenly on top.
- Starting from the long side, roll the dough tightly into a log.
- Cut it into 12 equal pieces and place them in a greased baking pan.
- Let them rise again for about 30 minutes. In the meantime, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Baking
- Once your rolls have puffed up, pop them in the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes.
- The aroma will be so good that even the neighbors will want to join you for breakfast!
Finishing Touches
- While the rolls are baking, whisk together the powdered sugar and milk to create a simple glaze.
- Once the rolls are golden brown, take them out of the oven and drizzle the glaze on top.
- For extra fun, toss a few mini marshmallows on top and give them a gentle toast—watch closely to avoid burning.
Notes
Make the dough ahead of time and refrigerate overnight. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days.
