Preparation
- In a bowl, combine your shredded chicken, cheese, and taco seasoning. Mix well.
- Heat your tortillas in a pan for about 30 seconds on each side until they’re pliable.
Assembly
- Place about 2 tablespoons of the chicken mixture on the bottom third of each tortilla.
- Roll the tortilla tightly, tucking in the edges as you go.
Frying
- Heat about ¼ inch of oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Carefully place 3-4 taquitos seam-side down in the pan. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove and let them rest on paper towels to soak up any excess oil.
Serving
- Plate your taquitos with a side of salsa, sour cream, or guacamole.
Notes
For perfectly crispy taquitos, ensure the oil is hot and don’t rush the frying process. You can also bake them at 425°F for about 15 minutes if you'd like a healthier option.
