Ingredients
  

Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Dry Ingredients
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 2 teaspoons ground ginger the star of the show!
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
Additions
  • 1 cup chocolate chips because why not?
  • powdered sugar for dusting optional for decoration

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, ground ginger, cinnamon, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  5. Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Pour the batter into a greased 9x13 inch pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes.
  8. Allow the brownies to cool in the pan before slicing.
  9. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

The brownies should be a little gooey in the center when baked. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to a week. Optional variations include adding chopped nuts or a swirl of cream cheese for extra flavor.
