  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed Packed tightly for sweetness.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar Adds additional sweetness.
  • 4 large eggs Bring to room temperature for better mixing.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Enhances the flavors.
  • 1.75 cups all-purpose flour Sifted for better mixing.
  • 0.5 cup cocoa powder Unsweetened.
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder For leavening.
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger Spicy flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon Classic gingerbread spice.
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cloves Adds depth to flavor.
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt Balances the sweetness.
  • Optional: chocolate chips or nuts For added texture.

Method
 

Baking Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. If desired, fold in chocolate chips or nuts.
  7. Pour the batter into a greased 9×13-inch pan and smooth it out.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  9. Let them cool completely in the pan before slicing.

Notes

Don’t overmix the batter to ensure fudgy brownies. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to a week. For a special touch, add a simple icing of powdered sugar and milk on top.
