Baking Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- If desired, fold in chocolate chips or nuts.
- Pour the batter into a greased 9×13-inch pan and smooth it out.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Let them cool completely in the pan before slicing.
Notes
Don’t overmix the batter to ensure fudgy brownies. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to a week. For a special touch, add a simple icing of powdered sugar and milk on top.
