Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb sirloin steak (or your favorite cut)
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh parsley, chopped for garnish
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for cooking

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by letting your steak sit out for about 30 minutes before cooking to ensure even cooking. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
Cooking the Steak
  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add a splash of olive oil. When it’s hot, add the steak. Cook for about 4-6 minutes per side for medium-rare.
Cooking the Shrimp
  1. In another pan, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  2. Add the shrimp to the garlic butter mixture and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they’re pink and opaque. Season with salt, pepper, and parsley.
Combining and Serving
  1. Once the steak is done to your liking, take it out to rest for about 5 minutes. Pour the garlic-butter over the steak before serving.
  2. Slice the steak against the grain, serve it alongside the shrimp, and drizzle the extra garlic butter over the top.

Notes

Extra butter enhances flavor; let meat rest to keep it juicy; be careful not to overcook shrimp.
