Preparation
- Start by letting your steak sit out for about 30 minutes before cooking to ensure even cooking. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
Cooking the Steak
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add a splash of olive oil. When it’s hot, add the steak. Cook for about 4-6 minutes per side for medium-rare.
Cooking the Shrimp
- In another pan, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the shrimp to the garlic butter mixture and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they’re pink and opaque. Season with salt, pepper, and parsley.
Combining and Serving
- Once the steak is done to your liking, take it out to rest for about 5 minutes. Pour the garlic-butter over the steak before serving.
- Slice the steak against the grain, serve it alongside the shrimp, and drizzle the extra garlic butter over the top.
Notes
Extra butter enhances flavor; let meat rest to keep it juicy; be careful not to overcook shrimp.
