Ingredients

For the Steak
  • 2 pieces ribeye steaks or your steak of choice
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves minced garlic to enhance flavor
  • 1 teaspoon fresh rosemary or dried if that's what you have
  • Salt and pepper to taste
For the Potatoes
  • 1 lb baby potatoes, halved
Optional Garnish
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Method

Preparation of Potatoes
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Toss halved baby potatoes with a drizzle of olive oil, salt, and pepper.
  2. Spread potatoes on a baking sheet and roast for about 25 minutes until crispy and golden brown. Stir halfway through.
Steak Preparation
  1. Pat the ribeye steaks dry with a paper towel to enable a perfect sear.
Cooking the Steak
  1. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add a bit of oil and place the steaks in without touching them for 4-5 minutes until a crust forms.
  2. Flip the steaks and add butter, minced garlic, and rosemary to the pan.
  3. Spoon melted butter over the steaks while cooking for another 3-4 minutes for medium-rare (adjust time for doneness).
Final Steps
  1. Transfer the cooked steaks to a plate and let them rest for a few minutes.
  2. Serve the juicy steaks alongside crispy potatoes, garnished with fresh parsley.

Notes

Letting the steak sit in the pan without flipping helps develop a beautiful crust. If you have extra veggies, add them to the baking sheet with the potatoes. If the garlic burns, refer to it as 'smoky flavor' to impress others.
