Ingredients

For the Sloppy Joe Filling
  • 1 pound ground beef (or turkey for a healthier twist)
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
For the Garlic Bread
  • 4 hoagie rolls (or any bread of your choice)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried)
  • Salt to taste

Method

Start with the Filling
  1. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add in your chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes, until the onions are translucent.
  3. Stir in the ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Simmer for about 5 minutes.
Prepare the Garlic Bread
  1. In a bowl, mix the softened butter, minced garlic, parsley, and salt until well combined.
  2. Heat a separate skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Split the hoagie rolls in half and spread the garlic butter mixture generously on each side.
  4. Toast the rolls, cut side down, in the skillet until golden brown—around 2-3 minutes.
Assemble and Serve
  1. Once the Sloppy Joe filling has thickened, spoon it generously into the toasted garlic bread.
  2. Serve with a side of pickles and a sprinkle of extra parsley for garnish.
