  • 1 pound frozen green beans Can substitute with fresh green beans, adjust cooking time.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil Can replace with butter for additional flavor.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt Adjust to taste.
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes Optional, for extra kick.
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice Adds zest before serving.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Pour frozen green beans into a colander and let them sit for a few minutes to slightly defrost.
Cooking
  1. Heat olive oil (or butter) in a large skillet over medium heat until shimmering.
  2. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  3. Add the green beans to the skillet along with salt, pepper, and optional red pepper flakes. Stir to coat.
  4. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until heated through and slightly crispy.
  5. Drizzle lemon juice over the green beans just before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese before serving. To store leftovers, keep in an airtight container for 3-4 days and reheat with a little olive oil.
