Ingredients

For the Filling
  • 1 bag bag of Doritos (your favorite flavor)
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar works wonders!) Feel free to mix different types of cheeses.
  • ½ cup cream cheese, softened
For the Coating
  • 1 cup egg wash (whisk a few eggs with a splash of water)
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (get creative with flavors!) Spicy or garlic breadcrumbs can add extra flavor.
  • Oil for frying (vegetable or canola are recommended) Ensure enough oil to partially submerge the Doritos.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, mix the shredded cheese and softened cream cheese together until well combined.
  2. Gently break open each Dorito, avoiding shattering, and fill each with a generous spoonful of the cheese mixture.
  3. Dip each filled Dorito into the egg wash, allowing excess to drip off, then roll in breadcrumbs until evenly coated.
Cooking
  1. Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium heat, ensuring it’s hot enough for frying.
  2. Carefully place the stuffed Doritos in the hot oil, cooking in batches to avoid overcrowding.
  3. Fry until golden brown and crispy, approximately 2-3 minutes on each side.
  4. Remove fried Doritos and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
Serving
  1. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce, such as ranch or salsa.

Notes

Don’t skimp on cheese for indulgent bites and experiment with flavored breadcrumbs for extra crunch. Always be cautious when frying and use a thermometer for oil temperature if needed.
