  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar Adjust according to your sweetness preference.
  • ½ cup brown sugar For added depth of flavor.
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs Can be substituted with applesauce or flaxseed meal for a vegan option.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional: walnuts or pecans) Optional for added crunch.

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
Mixing Ingredients
  1. In one bowl, combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, mix your granulated sugar, brown sugar, oil, eggs, and vanilla until smooth and creamy.
Bringing it Together
  1. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ones, mixing gently until just combined.
  2. Fold in diced apple pieces and optional chopped nuts.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it out evenly.
