Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
Mixing Ingredients
- In one bowl, combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
- In another bowl, mix your granulated sugar, brown sugar, oil, eggs, and vanilla until smooth and creamy.
Bringing it Together
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ones, mixing gently until just combined.
- Fold in diced apple pieces and optional chopped nuts.
Baking
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it out evenly.
- Bake for about 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Cooling and Serving
- Let the cake cool for a few minutes before slicing.
- Serve warm, optionally with a dusting of powdered sugar or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Notes
Store the leftover cake at room temperature for up to 3 days, wrapped in foil for freshness. This cake is also great for freezing up to 3 months.
