Ingredients

Croissant Dough
  • 1 package frozen croissant dough (8 pieces)
Filling
  • 1 cup cooked shrimp, coarsely chopped
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chives, chopped or any herbs you fancy
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: A sprinkle of paprika or Parmesan cheese for extra flavor

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven according to the directions on the croissant dough package—usually around 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, chopped shrimp, chives, garlic powder, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Stir until well mixed.
  3. Carefully open up your croissant dough.
  4. Take a generous scoop of the shrimp filling and place it at the wide end of each croissant triangle. Roll them up, starting from the wide end and tucking the points in slightly.
  5. Place the filled croissants on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. For a shiny finish, brush the tops with an egg wash made from whisked egg and a dash of water.
  6. Bake according to package instructions (usually around 12-15 minutes) until they’re golden brown.
  7. Allow to cool for a couple of minutes before serving. Enjoy with a sprinkle of paprika or grated Parmesan cheese.

Notes

Variability is Key: Feel free to swap out shrimp for crab, chicken, or even veggies to make this dish vegetarian. You can prepare the filling a day in advance and keep it stored in the fridge. Don’t worry if some filling spills during baking; it's just more delicious!
