Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Thaw the puff pastry according to package instructions, roll it out, and cut into rectangular pieces, about 4 inches wide and 6 inches long.
- Cook the sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned and fully cooked. Drain excess grease and let it cool slightly.
Assembly
- Lay a piece of sausage on each pastry rectangle, sprinkle with cheese, and fold the pastry edges over to encase the sausage. Seal the edges.
- Beat the egg in a small bowl and brush it over the top of each wrapped sausage.
- Place the griddlers on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until they puff up and turn golden brown.
- Let them cool for a minute before serving with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
Don’t overstuff the griddlers to allow the pastry to puff well. Feel free to customize with ingredients like chopped jalapeños or different cheeses. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days and reheated in the oven.
