Ingredients

Burger Pattys
  • 1 pound ground beef (80/20) for that juicy goodness
  • to taste salt and pepper for seasoning
Cheese and Buns
  • 4 slices American cheese because one slice is just not enough
  • 4 pieces burger buns toasty, if possible!
Toppings
  • Lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions, or any of your favorite toppings
  • Ketchup and mustard for that classic touch

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by shaping the ground beef into 8 equal patties, making them larger than your buns since they’ll shrink while cooking.
  2. Season each side with a sprinkle of salt and pepper.
Cooking
  1. Heat your griddle or pan over medium-high heat, or preheat your grill.
  2. Place 4 patties on the hot surface and cook for about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Flip the patties, and immediately place a slice of cheese on each. Cook for another 3-4 minutes until the cheese melts.
Assembly
  1. Toast the buns if desired. Grab a bun, layer with lettuce, tomato, and any toppings you fancy.
  2. Place two cheesy patties on top and finish off with your favorite condiments.
Serving
  1. Serve your burger with a side of crispy fries or a fresh salad.

Notes

Don’t overwork the meat when shaping the patties to ensure juiciness. Feel free to experiment with different cheeses and toppings.
