Ingredients

For the Cake
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 cups sugar
  • 0.75 cups unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1.5 tsp baking powder
  • 1.5 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 0.5 cups vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water This step is crucial for creating a moist texture.
For the Frosting
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 0.5 cups cocoa powder
  • 0.5 cups heavy cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Crushed Oreos and Ferrero Rocher chocolate for decoration

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add in the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Mix on medium speed until well combined.
  4. Carefully stir in the boiling water.
Baking
  1. Divide the batter evenly between the two prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  2. Once baked, let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Frosting and Assembly
  1. In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter until light and fluffy. Gradually add the powdered sugar and cocoa powder, alternating with the heavy cream and vanilla. Beat until smooth and creamy.
  2. Place one cake layer on a serving plate. Spread a generous amount of frosting over the top, sprinkle with crushed Oreos and chopped Ferrero Rocher. Place the second layer on top and repeat the frosting and decoration.
  3. Decorate the top with more crushed Oreos, mini Ferrero Rocher, and a sprinkle of love.
  4. Slice up this heavenly cake and serve.

Notes

Don't skip the boiling water for the moist texture. Allow cake to cool completely before frosting.
