Ingredients
  

For the Brownies
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted Make sure it's fully melted.
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs Room temperature.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Sifted.
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder Sifted.
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
For the Topping
  • 1 package (15-ounce) chocolate sandwich cookies Think Oreos!
  • 1 container (8-ounce) whipped topping
  • Gummy worms for decoration
  • Edible soil or crushed graham crackers (for dirt effect)

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and sugar until smooth. Whisk in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually fold it into the wet mixture until just combined.
Baking
  1. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.
  2. Bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out mostly clean.
  3. Let the brownies cool completely.
Topping Assembly
  1. While the brownies cool, crush the chocolate cookies into a fine texture.
  2. Once the brownies are cool, spread the whipped topping evenly over the surface.
  3. Sprinkle the cookie dirt on top until fully covered.
  4. Place gummy worms on top for decoration.

Notes

Feel free to customize the toppings! Swapping gummy worms for different candies or adding edible glitter can add a magical touch.
