Ingredients
  

For the Crust
  • 1.5 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 0.33 cups sugar
  • 0.5 cups unsalted butter, melted
For the Filling
  • 14 ounces sweetened condensed milk 1 can
  • 0.5 cups sour cream
  • 0.75 cups key lime juice fresh squeezed is best
  • 1 teaspoon lime zest
For the Topping
  • Whipped cream store-bought or homemade
  • Lime slices and zest for garnish

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and melted butter. Mix well until everything is combined.
  3. Firmly press this mixture into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie dish.
Baking the Crust
  1. Bake the crust for about 8-10 minutes, or until it’s lightly golden and fragrant. Let it cool.
Preparing the Filling
  1. In another bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk, sour cream, key lime juice, and lime zest until smooth.
Baking the Filling
  1. Pour the filling into the cooled crust and bake for about 15-18 minutes.
Chilling
  1. Allow the pie to cool at room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 3 hours or overnight.
Serving
  1. Top with whipped cream and garnish with lime slices and zest before serving.

Notes

Juice fresh limes for an unbeatable zing. A pre-made graham cracker crust can be used if short on time. Add a splash of vanilla extract for extra flavor.
