  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
For the Fudge Filling
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
For the Topping
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Chocolate shavings or chocolate syrup (for garnish, optional)

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix the chocolate cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs until smooth.
  3. Pour the batter into a greased 9×13-inch baking pan.
  4. Bake according to the package instructions, usually around 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  5. Let it cool for about 10 minutes.
Poke It
  1. Using the handle of a wooden spoon, poke holes all over the surface of the warm cake.
Make the Fudge Filling
  1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine sweetened condensed milk, chocolate chips, and cocoa powder.
  2. Stir continuously until the chocolate is melted and the mixture is smooth.
