  • 1 cup warm milk (about 110°F)
  • 2 tablespoons active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 large eggs
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup croissant dough (homemade or store-bought)

Method
 

Activate Your Yeast
  1. In a small bowl, combine the warm milk, active dry yeast, and a pinch of sugar. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
Mix The Ingredients
  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the remaining sugar, melted butter, salt, and eggs. Add in the frothy yeast mixture and mix until well combined.
Add The Flour
  1. Gradually add the flour, one cup at a time, mixing until a soft dough forms.
Knead The Dough
  1. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8–10 minutes until it’s smooth and elastic.
Let The Dough Rise
  1. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Shape The Dough
  1. Once the dough has risen, punch it down gently and roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle.
  2. If using store-bought croissant dough, unroll it into a similar rectangle.
Layering Flavors
  1. Sprinkle optional fillings like chocolate chips or almond paste before rolling it tightly from one end to the other.
Prepare For Baking
  1. Transfer the rolled dough to a greased loaf pan, seam side down. Cover it again and let it rest for about 30 minutes while your oven preheats to 350°F.
