Ingredients
Method
Activate Your Yeast
- In a small bowl, combine the warm milk, active dry yeast, and a pinch of sugar. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
Mix The Ingredients
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the remaining sugar, melted butter, salt, and eggs. Add in the frothy yeast mixture and mix until well combined.
Add The Flour
- Gradually add the flour, one cup at a time, mixing until a soft dough forms.
Knead The Dough
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8–10 minutes until it’s smooth and elastic.
Let The Dough Rise
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Shape The Dough
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down gently and roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle.
- If using store-bought croissant dough, unroll it into a similar rectangle.
Layering Flavors
- Sprinkle optional fillings like chocolate chips or almond paste before rolling it tightly from one end to the other.
Prepare For Baking
- Transfer the rolled dough to a greased loaf pan, seam side down. Cover it again and let it rest for about 30 minutes while your oven preheats to 350°F.
Bake The Loaf
- Bake your beautiful loaf in the oven for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
Cool and Enjoy
- Allow it to cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve it warm with some jam or butter.
