Preparation
- Remove the brie from the fridge and let it come to room temperature for about 30 minutes.
- Set up your breading station with flour, beaten egg, and seasoned breadcrumbs in three separate shallow bowls.
- Coat the brie in flour, dip it in the egg, and roll it in the breadcrumbs until fully covered.
Cooking
- Heat about an inch of oil in a deep skillet over medium heat. Test with a breadcrumb to ensure oil is ready.
- Carefully place the coated brie in the hot oil and fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- While brie is frying, combine olives, lemon zest, and fresh herbs in a small pot over low heat for 5-7 minutes until warmed through.
- Warm honey in another small saucepan together with crushed red pepper flakes.
Serving
- Transfer the fried brie to a paper towel-lined plate to remove excess oil.
- Arrange the fried brie on a serving platter with warm lemon-herb olives and prosciutto. Drizzle with spicy pepper honey and serve immediately.
Notes
Best served immediately. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge but might lose crispiness.
