Preparation and Preheating
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Trim and halve the Brussels sprouts.
Cooking the Bacon
- In a large oven-safe skillet, cook the diced bacon over medium heat until crispy, about 5-7 minutes.
- Remove the bacon from the skillet and let it drain on paper towels.
Roasting the Brussels Sprouts
- In the same skillet, toss the halved Brussels sprouts with the rendered bacon fat and season with salt and pepper.
- Spread the sprouts into a single layer and roast in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
Making the Creamy Mustard Sauce
- In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, honey, and a pinch of salt. Stir until well combined.
Combining and Serving
- Once the Brussels are crispy, remove from the oven and toss them with the crispy bacon and creamy mustard sauce.
- Optional: Sprinkle with chopped chives or parsley before serving.
Notes
For extra crispy Brussels sprouts, ensure they are not overcrowded in the skillet. Substitute bacon with turkey bacon or omit it entirely and use olive oil instead if desired. Prep the Brussels and sauce in advance for convenience.
