  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined Fresh or thawed frozen shrimp
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced Add more for extra garlicky flavor
  • 1 cup heavy cream Can substitute with half-and-half or coconut milk
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese For a cheesy richness
  • 2 tablespoons butter Adds richness to the sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil For cooking the garlic and shrimp
  • to taste Salt and pepper Adjust according to preference
  • to taste Fresh parsley, chopped For garnish and added flavor

Preparation
  1. Start by rinsing and patting your shrimp dry.
Cooking
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter and olive oil together.
  2. Add the minced garlic, and sauté for about 30 seconds, or until it’s fragrant.
  3. Add your shrimp to the skillet, seasoning them with salt and pepper.
  4. Cook them on each side for 2-3 minutes or until they turn pink.
  5. Once cooked, add the heavy cream and Parmesan cheese to the skillet.
  6. Stir it all together and let it simmer for a few minutes until the sauce thickens.
Serving
  1. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve over pasta, rice, or with crusty bread.

Notes

Fresh shrimp is fantastic, but frozen can also be used. Don’t overcook the shrimp to avoid rubbery texture. This dish shines particularly well on fettuccine pasta.
