Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound fresh mushrooms (cremini or button)
  • 4 slices crispy bacon, diced Because everything is better with bacon
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced Don't skimp on this!
  • 1 cup heavy cream The good stuff
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese More cheese, please!
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
Seasoning and Garnish
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish Holy basil, Batman! We need color!

Method

Cooking the Bacon
  1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced bacon and cook until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the bacon from the skillet and place it on a paper towel to soak up some of the grease.
Sautéing the Mushrooms
  1. In the same skillet, toss in the mushrooms and cook for about 5 minutes, until they start to turn golden brown. Stir occasionally to avoid sticking.
Adding Garlic
  1. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
Making It Creamy
  1. Pour in the heavy cream and let it simmer for a few minutes, scraping the browned bits off the bottom of the pan.
  2. Mix in the Parmesan cheese and stir until melted and smooth. Add the crispy bacon back into the mixture, and season with salt and pepper.
Serving
  1. Serve warm and sprinkle fresh parsley on top for garnish.

Notes

Mushroom Choices: Mix and match different types of mushrooms for variety. Cream Alternatives: Substitute half-and-half or whole milk for a lighter version. This dish can be topped with cooked pasta or served over chicken for a complete meal.
