  • 1 wheel Brie cheese (8 ounces)
  • 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed)
  • 1/2 cup cranberry sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 each egg (for egg wash)
  • to taste A sprinkle of cinnamon (optional)
  • for garnish Fresh rosemary or thyme (optional) Optional but adds elegance.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. On a lightly floured surface, roll out your thawed puff pastry large enough to wrap around the Brie.
  3. Place the Brie in the center of the puff pastry, top it with cranberry sauce, and sprinkle the chopped pecans over it.
  4. Fold the corners of the puff pastry over the Brie, tucking them in tightly.
  5. Beat the egg in a small bowl and brush it over the puff pastry.
  6. Place the wrapped Brie on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Once out of the oven, let it cool for about 10 minutes.
  8. Garnish with fresh rosemary or thyme, and serve with crackers or baguette.

Notes

For added flavor, consider adding herbs or spices to the cranberry sauce. Leftover filling is also delicious on crackers. You can assemble this dish a few hours ahead of time.
