Cooking
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the lasagna noodles according to the package instructions until they’re al dente.
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef (or turkey) until browned. Drain any excess fat and season with salt and pepper. Pour in 1 cup of the marinara sauce, stir, and let it simmer for a few minutes.
- In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, parsley, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
- In a 9x13 inch baking dish, spread a thin layer of marinara sauce at the bottom, layer with 3 lasagna noodles, half of the ricotta mixture, meat sauce, and a third of the mozzarella cheese. Repeat these layers, ending with noodles, marinara sauce, and remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Then, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden. Let it cool for about 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
Make-Ahead Magic: Assemble your lasagna a day ahead and keep it in the fridge. Adjust baking time if cooking from the fridge. For an extra health boost, add sautéed spinach or mushrooms between layers. Love cheese? Add more mozzarella on top just before serving.
