  • 2 slices slices of bread Your choice: white, whole grain, or a bagel.
  • 2 slices slices of bacon More bacon is always better!
  • 1 large egg Can be cooked sunny-side up or over-easy.
  • 1 slice cheese Cheddar is classic, but feel free to experiment.
  • Salt and pepper To taste.
  • Butter For cooking.

Method

  1. Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat for 4-6 minutes until crispy, flipping halfway through.
  2. Once cooked, place bacon on paper towels to absorb excess fat, then crack the egg into the same skillet and fry until whites are set, about 2 minutes.
  3. Toast the bread in the bacon grease until golden brown.
  4. Assemble the sandwich with a slice of cheese on one piece of toast, followed by bacon and egg, then top with the second slice of toast.
  5. Slice in half if desired and enjoy your delicious breakfast sandwich.

Notes

Try different cheeses or add toppings like avocado or sautéed spinach for extra nutrition. Make extra bacon and eggs in advance for quicker mornings.
