Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Peel and slice your apples, then toss them into a mixing bowl with brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Mix until the apples are generously coated.
- Open the cinnamon roll cans and set the icing aside for later.
- In a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, place a layer of cinnamon roll pieces at the bottom.
- Spread half of the apple mixture over this layer, followed by another layer of cinnamon roll pieces. Top with the rest of the apples and finish with a final layer of cinnamon rolls.
Baking
- Place the baking dish in the oven and let it bake for 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the apples are bubbling.
- Let it sit for a few minutes before drizzling with icing.
Serving
- Cut into squares, serve warm, and enjoy!
Notes
This dessert can also be made with pears instead of apples. It freezes well, so consider making a double batch.
