Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add in the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to your dry mix. Beat the mixture on medium speed for about two minutes until everything is combined.
- Carefully stir in the boiling water until well mixed.
Baking
- Pour the batter evenly into two greased 9-inch round cake pans.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Cooling and Frosting
- Once baked, let your cakes cool in their pans for about 10 minutes, then transfer them to wire racks to cool completely.
- Frost with your favorite chocolate frosting.
Notes
For extra flavor, you can add a dash of espresso powder to the frosting. To serve, dust the top with powdered sugar or fresh berries.
