Ingredients
  

For the Trifle Layers
  • 2 pieces ripe bananas Ensure they are ripe for sweetness.
  • 1 cup chocolate pudding Can be store-bought or homemade.
  • 1 cup whipped cream Can be homemade or store-bought.
  • ½ cup peanut butter Smooth peanut butter is recommended.
  • 1 package graham crackers Or use your favorite cookie, crushed.
  • to taste chocolate shavings or crushed peanuts Optional topping.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Smash graham crackers (or cookies) into fine crumbs, using a zip-lock bag for ease.
  2. Sprinkle a generous layer of graham cracker crumbs at the bottom of a tall glass or large serving bowl.
  3. Spoon a layer of chocolate pudding on top of the crumbs.
  4. Slice ripe bananas and lay them flat over the pudding layer.
  5. Mix peanut butter with half of the whipped cream to create a peanut butter layer, then spoon it over the banana layer.
  6. Repeat the layers of graham crackers, pudding, banana, and peanut butter until the top of the dish is reached, finishing with whipped cream.
  7. Top with chocolate shavings or crushed peanuts.
  8. Allow the trifle to chill in the fridge for about an hour before serving.

Notes

To slow down banana browning, toss bananas in a bit of lemon juice. This trifle can be made a day in advance for convenience.
