Preparation
- Smash graham crackers (or cookies) into fine crumbs, using a zip-lock bag for ease.
- Sprinkle a generous layer of graham cracker crumbs at the bottom of a tall glass or large serving bowl.
- Spoon a layer of chocolate pudding on top of the crumbs.
- Slice ripe bananas and lay them flat over the pudding layer.
- Mix peanut butter with half of the whipped cream to create a peanut butter layer, then spoon it over the banana layer.
- Repeat the layers of graham crackers, pudding, banana, and peanut butter until the top of the dish is reached, finishing with whipped cream.
- Top with chocolate shavings or crushed peanuts.
- Allow the trifle to chill in the fridge for about an hour before serving.
Notes
To slow down banana browning, toss bananas in a bit of lemon juice. This trifle can be made a day in advance for convenience.
