Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
- Add in the mayonnaise, water, and vanilla extract, and mix until the batter is smooth.
Cooking
- Pour your batter into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Pop it in the oven and let it bake for about 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Cooling and Topping
- Once baked, let the cake cool in the pan for about 10 minutes.
- Transfer the cake onto a wire rack to cool completely, then frost with chocolate frosting if desired.
