Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- In another bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
Baking
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 9 to 11 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Cool on the baking sheets for 2 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
For a twist, try adding nuts or using different types of chocolate chips. Store cookies in an airtight container for up to a week.
