Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet, cook the chopped bacon until it’s crispy. Set aside but leave the grease in the pan.
- Sauté the chopped onion in the same skillet until translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Add the mushrooms and garlic, cooking until tender.
- Add shredded chicken, thyme, paprika, salt, and pepper. Pour in chicken broth and heavy cream, then simmer for 5-7 minutes until thickened.
- Transfer the mixture into the pre-made pie crust and spread evenly.
- Cover with the second pie crust, crimp edges to seal, and make slits on top to let steam escape.
- Brush the crust with beaten egg before baking.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Let cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
For a flawless pie, consider substituting mushrooms with zucchini or spinach and use leftover ingredients as needed.
