Preparation
- Preheat your oven according to the instructions on the brownie mix box.
- Bake the brownies in a grease-lined rectangular dish following the box instructions. Let them cool completely.
Make the Frosting
- In a mixing bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until light and fluffy.
Layering the Cake
- Cut the cooled brownies into squares and layer half of them in a separate serving dish.
- Spread half of the cream cheese frosting on top. Repeat with the remaining brownies and frosting.
Chill
- Cover the dish with plastic wrap or a lid and refrigerate for about 4-6 hours.
Serve
- After chilling, cut into squares and garnish with whipped cream and a sprinkle of chocolate chips or nuts if desired.
Notes
You can add crushed candy bars or a splash of coffee in the frosting for different flavors. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to three days.
