  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg At room temperature.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon Gives a warm flavor.
  • 1/2 cup additional sugar for rolling For rolling the cookie dough balls.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, beat together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and creamy.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla, mixing until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  6. Roll about 1 tablespoon of dough into a ball and then roll it in the extra sugar.
  7. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them a couple of inches apart.
Baking
  1. Bake for about 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden.
  2. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
Serving
  1. Serve warm with a glass of milk.

Notes

Cookies are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week or frozen for longer shelf life. Consider adding a pinch of nutmeg for extra flavor.
