Ingredients
  

For the Quiche
  • 1 piece prepared pie crust Store-bought or homemade
  • 1 cup broccoli, chopped Can substitute with spinach if desired
  • 1 cup shredded cheese Cheddar or your choice
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg A spooky sprinkle!

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Place your prepared pie crust in a pie dish and crimp the edges if desired.
  3. In a medium skillet over medium heat, sauté the chopped broccoli for about 3-4 minutes until bright green and tender.
Filling
  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and nutmeg.
  2. Add the sautéed broccoli and cheese to the mixture and stir until combined.
Baking
  1. Pour the mixture into the prepared pie crust.
  2. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the filling is set and lightly golden.
  3. Allow the quiche to cool for a few minutes before slicing.
Serving
  1. Slice the quiche into wedges and serve warm, ideally paired with a crisp autumn salad.

Notes

Feel free to swap broccoli for spinach or add caramelized onions for extra flavor. If making your own pie crust sounds daunting, a store-bought crust works just as well.
