Ingredients

For the cake
  • 1 box 15.25 oz chocolate cake mix
For the toppings
  • 1 can 14 oz sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 container 8 oz Cool Whip
  • 1 jar 7 oz caramel sauce
  • 1/2 cup toffee bits (or crushed Heath bars) Optional: extra toffee bits for topping.

Method

Baking the Cake
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and prepare a 9×13 inch baking dish by greasing it lightly. Prepare the chocolate cake mix according to the package instructions, pour it into the pan, and bake for 30-35 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Adding the Sweet Touch
  1. Once the cake has cooled for about 15 minutes, poke holes all over the surface using a fork. Pour the sweetened condensed milk evenly over the top, allowing it to seep into the holes.
Topping the Cake
  1. Spread the Cool Whip over the top of the cake and drizzle the caramel sauce over it. Sprinkle the toffee bits generously on top.
Chilling the Cake
  1. Cover the cake and place it in the fridge for at least a couple of hours (or overnight) to allow the flavors to mingle.
Serving
  1. Slice into the cake and serve. Feel free to add even more toffee bits on top for extra indulgence.

Notes

Don't skimp on cooling time! If there's any leftover cake, cover it and keep it in the fridge; it gets better by the day.
