Baked Brie Stuffed Sourdough Bread

Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 1 large round sourdough bread loaf
  • 8 oz wheel of brie cheese 3-4 oz is also acceptable
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup for a twist
  • 1/4 cup sliced almonds, walnuts, or your favorite nuts
  • to taste Fresh rosemary or thyme optional, but adds fragrance
  • as needed Olive oil for drizzling

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Slice off the top of the sourdough loaf and set it aside.
  3. Carefully hollow out the insides of the bread, keeping the excess for dipping.
  4. Place the brie cheese at the bottom of the hollowed bread.
  5. Drizzle honey (or maple syrup) over the brie and sprinkle with nuts and herbs.
  6. Reassemble the bread by placing the top back on, drizzle with olive oil, and wrap in aluminum foil.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes.
  2. Remove from the oven when it's bubbly and golden.
  3. Unwrap and serve with leftover bread pieces for dipping.

Notes

Feel free to mix in different cheeses or toppings. If using for gatherings, prepare in advance and bake right before serving.
