Main Ingredients
  • 1 round round wheel of brie cheese (about 8 oz)
  • 1 sheet sheet of puff pastry, thawed Chilled for best results
  • 1/4 cup fig jam (or spread) Alternatives: apricot or raspberry jam
  • 4-5 slices slices of prosciutto, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons honey For drizzling on top
  • 1 egg egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • to taste Fresh thyme for garnish (optional)

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out your thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface until smooth.
Assembly
  1. Place the wheel of brie in the center of your pastry sheet and spread the fig jam on top.
  2. Sprinkle the chopped prosciutto over the cheese.
  3. Fold the pastry over the brie, trimming excess edges if necessary, and pinch the seams to seal.
Finishing
  1. Brush the beaten egg over the dough for a golden color.
  2. Place the wrapped brie on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for about 25-30 minutes.
  3. Remove from oven, drizzle warm honey on top, and garnish with fresh thyme before serving.

Notes

Make sure to chill your puff pastry for best results, and enjoy with sliced baguette or crunchy crackers.
