Ingredients

Trifle Ingredients
  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup Baileys Irish Cream
  • 1 cup chocolate pudding (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 package (10-12 oz) chocolate sandwich cookies, crushed (think Oreos!)
  • 1/4 cup chocolate shavings or sprinkles for garnish for decoration

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to beat the softened cream cheese until smooth.
  2. Gradually add the powdered sugar, mixing until it's creamy and well-combined.
  3. Pour the Baileys into the cream cheese mixture and blend until fully incorporated.
  4. In another bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
  5. Gently fold the whipped cream into the Baileys and cream cheese mixture.
Layering
  1. Grab your trifle dish and begin layering. Start with a layer of crushed chocolate cookies at the bottom.
  2. Add a layer of the Baileys cheesecake mixture, followed by a layer of chocolate pudding.
  3. Repeat these layers until your dish is full.
Finishing Touches
  1. Finish off with a final layer of the cheesecake mixture, garnished with chocolate shavings or sprinkles.
  2. Cover with plastic wrap and chill in the fridge for at least 2 hours.

Notes

For best results, prepare a day ahead. This dessert tastes even better after a night in the fridge. You can use graham crackers instead of chocolate cookies for variety. For a non-alcoholic version, substitute with a chocolate cream coffee syrup.
