  • 1/4 cup feta cheese, crumbled Can be substituted with goat cheese or ricotta.
  • 1 tablespoon juice of lemon Adds freshness and prevents browning.
  • to taste salt and pepper Adjust to your preference.
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes Adds a spicy kick!
  • 4 slices bread Sourdough, whole grain, or gluten-free works well.
  • optional fresh herbs (like parsley or dill) For garnish and added flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Toast the slices of bread in a toaster until golden and crispy.
  2. While the bread is toasting, cut the avocados in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a bowl.
  3. Mash the avocado with a fork, keeping some texture.
  4. Add the crumbled feta cheese, lemon juice, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes to the mashed avocado. Mix until well combined.
Assembly
  1. Spread the avocado mixture generously onto each slice of toasted bread.
  2. Garnish with fresh herbs and optionally drizzle with olive oil.

Notes

For best results, use ripe avocados. Store leftover avocado mixture with plastic wrap pressed against the surface to minimize browning.
