Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Mix until well blended, but do not overmix.
- In another bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture. Stir just until combined; lumps are okay.
- Fold in the diced apples gently.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and shake lightly to level it.
Baking
- Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Feel free to switch up the spices; consider adding chopped walnuts or pecans for a crunch. Caramel sauce can be drizzled on top before serving.
