Preparation
- Slice the apple into thin pieces.
- Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.
Assembly
- On the unbuttered side of two slices, layer the brie cheese and apple slices. Drizzle honey if desired and top with the second slice of bread, buttered side facing out.
Cooking
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Place the sandwich in the skillet and cook until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.
- Flip the sandwich over and cook the other side until the cheese is melty.
- Optionally cover the pan to help the cheese melt.
Serving
- Remove the sandwich from the skillet and let it sit for a minute. Cut in half and serve with your favorite soup or salad.
Notes
Avoid high heat, as it may burn the bread while the cheese stays solid. Feel free to add nuts or herbs like thyme for variation.
