Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 eggs Can be substituted with applesauce or flax eggs.
Main Ingredients
  • 2 cups peeled and diced apples Mix of sweet and tart apples recommended for best flavor.
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans Optional for added crunch.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, combine the sugar, brown sugar, vegetable oil, and eggs. Mix until well blended.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just blended. Fold in the diced apples and nuts if using.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter into a greased 9 x 5 inch loaf pan.
  2. Bake for about 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Check around the 50-minute mark.
Cooling
  1. Let the Apple Bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack.
  2. Slice and enjoy!

Notes

For a healthier twist, substitute oil with applesauce. Keep leftover bread in an airtight container for up to 3 days, or freeze for later use.
