Ingredients
  

Salad Base
  • 1 head iceberg lettuce, chopped Provides a fresh base.
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved Adds color and sweetness.
  • 1 red bell pepper, diced red bell pepper, diced Provides crunch and flavor.
  • 1 cup English cucumber, diced Refreshing addition.
  • 1 cup cooked bacon, crumbled Can substitute with turkey bacon.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Use sharp for more flavor.
  • 1/2 cup green onions, chopped Adds a fresh finish.
Dressing
  • 1 cup mayonnaise Base for the dressing.
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar Adds tanginess.
  • to taste Salt and pepper For seasoning.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Wash and chop all vegetables and cook bacon until crispy.
Layering
  1. In a large trifle bowl, layer the ingredients in this order: lettuce, cherry tomatoes, red bell pepper, cucumbers, bacon, cheddar cheese, and finally green onions.
Making the Dressing
  1. In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise and white vinegar until combined.
Assembling the Salad
  1. Spread the dressing evenly on top of the layered salad.
  2. Cover with plastic wrap and chill in the fridge for at least 1 hour.

Notes

Make it a day in advance, just hold off on adding the dressing until ready to serve. Add olives or replace cheddar with feta for variations.
