  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts Thighs are recommended for their richness.
  • 1 jar (about 24 ounces) marinara sauce Use your favorite brand or homemade.
  • 1 cup sliced bell peppers (optional) Adds color and nutrition.

Preparation
  1. Trim any extra fat from the chicken and place it in the slow cooker.
  2. Pour the marinara sauce over the chicken. If using bell peppers, add them now.
Cooking
  1. Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
Serving
  1. Once the chicken is tender, shred it with a fork and serve over pasta, rice, or with crusty bread.
