Description
A luxurious surf and turf dish featuring tender ribeye steak and succulent shrimp in a rich garlic butter sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 ribeye steaks (8–10 oz each), room temperature
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- 12 large shrimp (16–20 count), peeled and deveined
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 1/4 cup white wine
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Prepare the steaks by seasoning them generously with salt and pepper. Heat a cast-iron skillet over high heat, add olive oil, and sear steaks for 3-4 minutes per side. Remove and let rest.
- Cook the shrimp in the same skillet over medium-high heat with olive oil, seasoned with salt and pepper, for about 2 minutes per side until pink and opaque.
- Create the garlic butter sauce by reducing heat to medium-low, adding butter, garlic, white wine, and lemon juice. Scrape up any brown bits from the pan.
- Finish the sauce by allowing it to reduce, then whisk in remaining butter until emulsified. Stir in fresh herbs and season to taste.
- Combine the steaks and shrimp back into the skillet, spooning sauce over them. Warm through for a minute and serve immediately.
Notes
Serve with roasted asparagus, cauliflower mash, or a bright salad to balance the richness of the dish.
